There are several ways to learn a new language 

Before we go to the best language schools, first some tips. As with many things in life: practice makes perfect. So immerse yourself in a new language and don't be afraid to make mistakes. By spending a lot of time with the new language, learning and recognising words, sentences and pronunciations will become easier and easier. If there is a long interval between practising a language, there is a greater chance that you will forget some of what you have learned. Therefore you should practise your new language every day. The best way to do this is by:  

• Speaking: Speaking a second language should become second nature to you and you should hardly think about it anymore. The best way to do this is to speak it often. Therefore, look for someone, for example a native speaker who has a good command of the language. In addition, you can practice with someone who is also learning the new language. Often you start with a group of students at a language school. Agree with someone in the group to have a short telephone call every day in order to practise the new language.  
  
• Reading multilingual books: Just like speaking, daily reading makes a new language second nature. Reading makes learning sentence structure, grammar and recognizing words easier. Especially with children reading (aloud). ensure the rapid mastery of a second language at a young age. Therefore, read at least 15-20 minutes daily from a multilingual book. Or go for a bilingual book, for example Dutch – Papiamentu or English – Arabic. This means you can always fall back on Dutch or English to properly understand what it says. Here too it can be valuable to do it with someone at the same timebook in another language at the same time as someone else. Are there any words or phrases in the book you don't understand? Write them down and discuss them with each other or ask your language teacher in the next lesson.    
  
• Watching films and series: Relax and learn a lot, perfect! Put on your favourite film or series in the language you want to learn. Try not to turn on the subtitles, as you might start focusing on them too much. Listen and watch carefully to what is being said and to what images, events and emotions are being shown. To make it even easier, you can choose to watch a film first in your mother tongue and then in the new language. This makes it easier to recognise the language and to link it to the events in the film.
